This movie "The Island"

Does anybody else know of this movie called "The Island" that will be coming out soon? Apparently it's about a group of clones who figure out that they exist only in case their original needs an organ transplant, in which case, they "get chosen to go to the island" and are never heard from again. And then Joan Rivers shows up at another awards show with new lungs.

Anyway, I was struck speechless when I found out the plot, because it's obvious that they completely, shamelessly ripped it off from Michael Marshall Smith's book called Spares. Spares is an excellent book, like all of Smith's work (Only Forward is amazing, too).

I wonder if he is in on the movie, or if he is even aware of it. I hope he sues their asses off, though, if they just ripped off his idea and ran with it.
